Okay. So I'm very sad. You probably all know the reason, but I suppose I'll reiterate...
One word: SCHOOL!!!!
So yeah... I watched one movie and read synopses of other things... But I'm not done with summer reading at all. But I will get it done, even if I have to stay in next weekend.
Am I the only one who thinks they should have other options besides summer READING?
If they HAVE to give us something, shouldn't it be kind of a choice? Like... You could choose math and just do a bunch of worksheets, or for science you could do a bunch of experiments or observations, history could be a research project, music could be a couple of compositions, art could be a couple of projects, theater could be writing a monologue. I mean, the possibilities are really endless! But, they stick us with reading and writing. Boring shit that won't get half of us anywhere to where we want to be.
Henry has a good point. This whole situation is a catch-22 (don't mind the joke referring to the book that's on the list). The kids who are quite literate (AKA smart) are forced to do something and do it (eventually). But they are the ones who don't need it. The not so literate kids (AKA illiterate... AKA not that smart (usually)) are given the same work (or close to it) and yet they don't do it, even though it seems so much more necessary for them. Ridiculous I think. But what are you gonna do?
This of course.
But yeah. I am off to (s)wallow. We'll chat later.
Ew why did I just do that
